2000-2001 MPV - FOGHORN/MOANING NOISE FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT

REVISION NOTE:

This bulletin supersedes 01-009/03, issued 04/02/03. The 2001 Model Year MPV has been included.

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINs:
All 2000-2001 MPV with VINs JM3 LW28****100001 to 177884.

DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles may exhibit a foghorn or loud moaning noise coming from the engine compartment, which may occur when the engine is half-warmed up
or the vehicle is being decelerated. This condition may be caused by an internal problem with the Idle Air Control valve (IAC). The IAC has been
modified to correct this concern.

Customers with this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1.

Verify customer concern.

2.

Replace IAC valve with a modified part according to Workshop Manual (section 01-13) INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.

3.

Verify repair.
