Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect the CMP sensor connector.
CAUTION: Do not forcefully pull the wiring harness of the CMP sensor. Doing so will break the harness.
2. Remove the CMP sensor installation bolt.
3. Remove the CMP sensor.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION: When foreign material such as an iron chip is on the CMP sensor, it can cause abnormal output from the sensor because of flux
turbulence and adversely affect the engine control. Be sure there is no foreign material on the CMP sensor when replacing.
Tightening torque
8.0 - 12.0 N.m {82 - 122 kgf.cm, 71 - 106 in.lbf}
5. Reconnect the CMP sensor connector.
