Thermostat: Testing and Inspection
1. Check the O-ring for damage.
2. Visually check that the valve is airtight.
3. Place the thermostat and a thermometer in water.

Heat the water and check the following:
Initial opening temp: 81.5°-84.5° C (179°-184° F)
Full-open temp: 96° C (205° F)
Full-open lift: 9.0 mm (0.35 in) min.
