Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the transmission.
3. Remove the drive plate.
4. Cut the oil seal lip by using a razor knife.
5. Remove the oil seal by using a screwdriver protected with a rag.
INSTALLATION
1. Apply clean engine oil to the new oil seal.
2. Push the oil seal slightly in by hand.
3. Tap the oil seal in evenly by using SST# 49 G019 017, seal installer and a hammer.
4. Install the drive plate.
5. Install the transmission.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
