Fuel Pressure Regulator: Testing and Inspection
Fuel Line Pressure
WARNING: Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate the
skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE PROCEDURE".
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Install a fuel pressure gauge between the fuel filter and the fuel distributor. (Install clamps as shown.)
3. Connect the negative battery cable.
4. Start the engine and run it at idle.
5. Measure the fuel line pressure.
Fuel line pressure: 206 - 254 kPa (30 - 36 psi)
