Before removing the tie-rod end, make a marks for proper installation.

Tie-rod End Boot Disassembly Note (3) 
1. Secure the tie-rod end in a vise.

2. Place a chisel against the boot and hold it at an angle as shown.
3. Remove the boot by tapping it with a hammer, being careful not to scar the part where the boot attaches to the tie-rod end.

Adjusting Cover Disassembly Note (10) 
1. Remove the locknut from the adjusting cover.

2. Remove the adjusting cover by using the Special Service Tool (SST).
3. Remove the spring and pressure pad.

Housing Cover Disassembly Note (14) 

1. Cut away the staked areas by using a drill.
2. Remove the housing cover.

Pinion Shaft And Control Valve Disassembly Note (16) 
1. Remove the locknut.
