Steering Shaft: Service and Repair

DISASSEMBLY / ASSEMBLY 

1. Disassemble in the order indicated in the table.
2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly indicated in the illustration, referring to the following:

Steering Lock Mounting Bolts And Bracket Disassembly Note (5)

Use a chisel to make a groove in the head of the steering lock mounting bolts. Remove the bolts by using a screwdriver then remove the
steering lock component.

Install the steering lock component on the jacket. Install new steering lock mounting bolts, and tighten them until the heads break off.
