All 2000 MPV without sunroof.
DESCRIPTION
Improper opening of the overhead console's sunglasses holder can cause the internal stopper mechanism to break and the holder to stay in the down
position. A stopper is now available as a service part to correct this concern. Effective August 24,1999 production date the word "PUSH" has been
molded into the front cover of the sunglass holder to resolve this concern.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
With the sunglasses holder open, inspect the right side of the holder for a small metal hook.

If the hook is present, proceed to STEP 3.

If the hook is missing, the entire overhead console must be replaced. Refer to Workshop Manual section 09-18 "MAP LIGHT
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION".
3.
Remove the overhead console. Refer to Workshop Manual (SECTION 09-18 "MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION."
4.
Remove the screw, spring and broken stopper from console
Note
Before removing the stopper, note the position of the small return spring for reinstatlation.
5.
Install new stopper with the original return spring and screw.
6.
Verify repair.
