Keyless Entry Transmitter Battery: Testing and Inspection
TRANSMITTER BATTERY INSPECTION
CAUTION:
-
ID code is transmitted for about
0.3 seconds after pushing the transmitter button. Therefore pushing the button again within about 0.3 seconds
after pushing it is not applicable. Always push the button every a second.
-
Since the battery voltage does not drop fully if the button is pushed only four times or less, it can not be properly examined to see whether is good
or bad. Always push the button five times.
NOTE: Since a correct measurement can not be obtained if the battery temperature is low, make sure the battery has been at 18 °C (64 °F} or more for
at least
30 minutes before reinspecting when a measurement value is under the standard voltage.
1. Push any button of the transmitter five times every a second.
2. Remove the battery.
CAUTION: The battery voltage recovers gradually after pushing the transmitter button. The standard voltage is the voltage recovered after a
minute after pushing the button. If the inspection is not performed under this condition, a correct measurement can not be obtained. Always
measure the voltage a minute after pushing the button.
3. Wait for a minute since the button is last pushed and measure the battery voltage.
