REAR WIPER MALFUNCTIONS IN INTERMITTENT MODE

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
All 2000-01 MPV with VINs lower than JM3 LW2B** 10 161475.

DESCRIPTION

During extreme weather conditions of less than 27 degrees Fahrenheit, the rear wiper may malfunction in the intermittent mode and stop approximately
five (5) inches from its original resting position. This condition may be caused by increased resistance in the rear wiper motor assembly and a short
energized period of the intermittent relay in the intermittent mode. A new relay is available to correct this concern.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1.

Verify customer concern.

If rear wiper operates in all switch positions except "intermittent", proceed to STEP 2.

If rear wiper does not operate in any switch position, refer to Workshop Manual (section 09-19 REAR WIPER MOTOR INSPECTION).

2.

Replace Intermittent Rear Wiper Relay with a new part according to Workshop Manual (section 09-19 INTERMITTENT REAR WIPER RELAY
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).

3.

Verify repair.
