Shifter A/T: Service and Repair

SELECTOR LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION 

Warning:  Handling the air bag module improperly can accidentally deploy the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. Read AIR
BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS before handling the air bag module. (Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts.) 

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal.
4. Inspect the shift-lock.
5. Inspect the shift-lock release lever.
6. Inspect the key interlock system.

Clip Removal Note 

Note  Do not reuse the clip when any of the hooks are deformed.
