Wheel Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection
Clearance Inspection

Front

NOTE:  Remove the wheel and tire, and inspect the sensor for looseness and damage. Replace the sensor if necessary.

Check the clearance between the wheel-speed sensor and the sensor rotor.

Clearance 0.5-1.3 mm (0.0197-0.0512 inch).

Rear

NOTE:  Remove the wheel and tire, and inspect the sensor for looseness and damage. Replace the sensor if necessary.

1. Remove the ABS wheel-speed sensor.
2. Measure A and B shown in the figure by using calipers.
3. Subtract B from A then verify the clearance between the ABS wheel-speed sensor and the sensor rotor.

Clearance A-B: 0.3-1.1 mm (0.0119-0.0433 inch).
