Temperature Gauge: Testing and Inspection
1. Disconnect the water temperature sender unit connector.
2. Verify that the needle indicates C when the ignition switch is turned to ON.
3. Verify that the needle indicates H when the terminal of the water temperature sender unit's vehicle side connector is grounded.
4. If the water temperature gauge needle does not move or moves unusually, remove the instrument cluster.
5. Loosen the screws for the A, B, and C terminals.
NOTE: If the screw is loosened excessively, it will disengage from the water temperature gauge, and you will not be able to measure the
resistance properly.
6. Measure the resistance between the water temperature gauge terminals by using an ohmmeter.
7. If not as specified, replace the fuel and water temperature gauges.
