Evaporator Core: Service and Repair
Front Cooling Unit Removal / Installation
1. Discharge the refrigerant from the system.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the side panel, glove compartment, and glove compartment cover.
4. Disconnect the cooler pipe No.3 and flexible hose (LO).
5. Remove the front blower unit.
CAUTION: If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration system, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise will occur. Always
immediately plug all open fittings after removing any refrigeration system parts to keep moisture or foreign material out of the system.
6. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
7. Install in the reverse order of removal indicated in the table.
8. Install the front blower unit.
9. Reconnect the cooler pipe No.3 and flexible hose (LO).
10. Install the side panel, glove compartment, and glove compartment cover.
11. Connect the negative battery cable.
12. Charge the system and test its performance.
NOTE: When installing a new front cooling unit, add ND-OIL8 compressor oil into the refrigeration system.
Supplemental amount: 40 ml (40 cc, 1.4 fl.oz.)
