5. Measure the clearance between the end of the oil pump housing and cam ring, rotor, vanes and control piston in at least four places along their

circumferences.

6. If not within the specification, replace the oil pump as a component.

7. Measure the cam ring spring specification.
8. If not correct, replace the cam ring spring.

9. Apply ATF to the new oil seal. Install the oil seal by using the SSTs.

10. Apply ATF to the side seals, and install them on the control piston with the black surface facing toward the control piston.

11. Install the control piston and pivot pin.
12. Apply petroleum jelly to the cam ring groove and install a new O-ring and friction ring into the cam ring.
