Bearing Collar (2)
1. Grind a section of the bearing collar until about 0.5 mm (0.0197 inch) remains. Be careful not to grind the backing plate and the rear axle
shaft.
2. Being careful not to dent or scratch the rear axle shaft, hit the ground section of the bearing collar with a chisel.
3. Remove the bearing collar.

1. Set the Special Service Tools (SSTs) as shown in the illustration.
2. Verify that the SST is securely grasping the bearing and that the axle shaft passes through the center of the SST. Adjust if necessary.
3. Spray a rust penetrating agent on the sliding surfaces indicated in the illustration to prevent friction burns.
4. Tighten the bolt on the SST to remove the bearing.
Hub Bolt (7)
NOTE: The hub bolts do not need to be removed unless you are replacing them.
Remove the hub bolts by using a press if necessary.
