SLIPPAGE IN FORWARD AND REVERSE DUE TO LOW ATF LEVEL

APPLICABLE MODELS
1996-97 MPV (LV) with 4WD and a VIN JM3 LV523*V0819236 and lower.

DESCRIPTION

The following problems may occur.

^

Delayed engagement into forward or reverse.

^

Engine flare during upshifts.

^

Low ATF level.

The adapter case oil seal pops out and ATF drains into the transfer case. This action causes low transmission fluid pressure, due to low fluid conditions.
To prevent the oil seal from popping out, a groove has been added onto the surface of the adapter case where the oil seal is installed.
