Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair
Replacement
REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
2. Install in the reverse order of removal indicated in the table.
Master Cylinder Installation Note Piston To Push Rod Clearance Adjustment (7)
Check the clearance between the push rod of the power brake unit and the piston of the master cylinder.
1. Place the Special Service Tool (SST) or equivalent, atop the master cylinder. Turn the adjusting bolt until it contacts the bottom of the push rod
hole in the piston.
2. Apply 66.7 kPa (19.7 inch Hg) vacuum to the power brake unit by using a vacuum pump.
