Fuel System Pressure Drop
Fuel System Pressure Drop
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Install a fuel pressure gauge between the fuel filter and the fuel distributor.(lnstall clamps as shown.) See: Fuel Filter/Fuel Pressure Release
3. Connect the negative battery cable.
CAUTION:
-
Connecting the wrong data link connector terminals may possibly
cause a malfunction. Carefully connect the specified terminals only.
4. Connect the data link connector terminals F/P and GND with a jumper wire.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON for 10 sec. to operate the fuel pump.
6. Turn off the ignition switch and disconnect the jumper wire.
7. Observe the fuel pressure after 5 mm.
Fuel pressure
More than 147 kPa {1.5 kgf/sq.cm, 21 Psi}
8. If not as specified, carry out the following inspection.

Fuel pump fuel pressure drop.
-
Pressure regulator fuel pressure drop.
-
Fuel injector fuel leakage.
Fuel Leakage Inspection
WARNING:

Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage if fuel Is spilled over a hot engine. Always carry out the following
procedure with the engine stopped.
CAUTION:

1. Connect the data link connector terminals F/P and GND with a jumper wire.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON to operate the fuel pump.
