MX-5 Miata L4-1.8L DOHC (1996)
Radiator: Service and Repair
1. On models with audio anti-theft system, obtain radio deactivation code prior to disconnecting battery ground cable, then deactivate system as
outlined under Technician Safety Information.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, drain engine coolant, then remove engine undercover.
3. On 1995-96 models, remove air intake pipe, Fig. 12.

4. Remove radiator hoses and coolant bottle hose.
5. On 1995-96 models with automatic transmission, disconnect oil cooler lines. Cap and plug lines and fittings.
6. Disconnect condenser and coolant fans.
7. Remove fan mounting bolts, then both fans.
8. Remove radiator mounting bolts, then the radiator.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten bolts to specifications.
