1996 Miata with a VIN of JM1NA****T0717875 and lower.
DESCRIPTION
The data link connector bracket for OBD-II may be broken. This condition causes the connector to hang down below the center lower panel. The cause
of the concern is residue oil used in bracket production causing solvent cracks.
To correct this condition, the bracket is degreased prior to installation. Customers complaining of this concern should have the vehicle inspected and if
necessary repaired according to this bulletin.
REPAIR PROCEDURES
1.
Remove the lower center panel.
2.
Remove the data link connector from the bracket.

Remove two (2) plastic fasteners.
^
Remove the broken plastic tabs from the bracket screws.
