Throttle Body: Service and Repair
REMOVAL

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Remove the air pipe.

Remove the accelerator cable from the throttle lever.

Drain the engine coolant.
-
Disconnect the water hoses.
-
Disconnect the connectors from the idle air control valve and the throttle position sensor.

Remove the throttle body.
INSPECTION
Do not remove the thin seat coating from the throttle valve or bore.

Verify that the throttle valve is at the closed throttle position.
-
Verify that the throttle valve moves smoothly when the throttle lever is moved from the closed throttle position to the wide open throttle.

Replace the throttle body if necessary.
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal, using a new mounting gasket.
Tightening torque: 19 - 25 Nm (14 - 18 ft.lbs.)
