Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.

Loosen the throttle position sensor screws.

-

Rotate the throttle position sensor and adjust continuity between the sensor terminals A and B as shown.

-

Tighten the throttle position sensor screws.

Tightening torque: 1.6 - 2.3 Nm (14 - 20 in lbs.)

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR

Connect the SSTs (Engine Signal Monitor) to the ECM. 

-

Verify that the throttle valve is at the closed throttle position.

-

Loosen the attaching screws.

-

Turn the ignition switch to ON.

-

Adjust the throttle position sensor so that the ECM terminal 3F voltage is as specified.

Specification:

Closed throttle position: 0.1 - 1.1 V 
Wide open throttle: 3.1 - 4.5 V 
(Verify that the voltage increase is directly proportioned to the throttle valve opening angle.)

Tighten the attaching screws.

Tightening torque: 1.6 - 2.3 Nm (14 - 20 in lbs.)

-

If not adjusted, inspect the throttle position sensor harness.

-

If the harness is OK, replace the throttle position sensor.
