Wheel Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Measure clearance between wheel speed sensor and rotor; clearance should be as 0.012 - 0.043 inch. If not, replace sensor or rotor as necessary.
2. Disconnect wheel speed sensor electrical connector and measure resistance between terminals. Resistance should be 0.8 - 1.2 kohms.
3. Raise and support vehicle; then, with wheel speed sensor connector disconnected, measure voltage at each sensor with corresponding wheel

rotating at one revolution per second. Voltage should be .25 - 1.2 volts.

4. If results are not as specified, replace wheel speed sensor or rotor as necessary.
