Impact Sensor: Testing and Inspection
S-Sensor

Fig. 20  S-sensor Continuity Test

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove knee protector, then disconnect clock spring connectors (orange and blue).

3.

Remove instrument panel, refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument Panel/Service and Repair / Refer To
Change:INSTRUMENT PANELS AND CLUSTERS/COMPONENT R & R PROCEDURES/INSTRUMENT PANEL.

4.

Disconnect S sensor connector.

5.

Check for continuity between terminals of sensor connectors, Fig. 20. Continuity should exist between terminals B and E, C and D. Continuity
should not exist between terminals B and C. Do not connect ohmmeter to harness side connector.

6.

If continuity is not as specified, replace S sensor.
