Impact Sensor: Service and Repair
S-Sensor

    After completion any on vehicle service procedure, verify system operation by checking airbag warning lamp. If system is operating normally, the
warning lamp will come on when the ignition switch is turned On, then go Off after approximately 6 seconds. 

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove instrument panel, refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument Panel/Service and Repair.

3.

Disconnect S sensor connectors, then remove sensor cover.

4.

Remove sensor attaching bolts, then the sensor.

5.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Position sensor with arrow towards front of vehicle.
b. Torque mounting bolts to 61-87 inch lbs.
