Component Inspection

FUEL PUMP RELAY (FP RLY) INSPECTION

NOTE:  The lock of the FP RLY will be easily broken when removing the relay from the bracket. Do not remove the relay from the bracket except when
replacement is required. Perform this "FUEL PUMP RELAY (FP RLY) INSPECTION" before removing the relay.

Simulation Test

1. Carry out the "Fuel Pump (FP) Operation Inspection", "Fuel Pump (FP) Control Inspection".

If not as specified, perform the further inspection for the FP RLY.

Continuity Inspection

NOTE:  Perform the following test only when directed.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the FP RLY connector (6-pin type connector: 4 terminal) located above the AP.

3. Inspect for continuity between the FP RLY terminals using an ohmmeter.

If not as specified, replace the FP RLY

If as specified but the Simulation Test is tailed, perform the "Circuit Open/Short Inspection".

4. Connect the FP RLY connector.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
