Description
The theft deterrent system may not deactivate or reset when using the outside door locks. This is caused by water or condensation entering the door lock
cylinder and corroding the the micro switch.
Repair Procedure
1.
Using an ohm meter check the connector of both door locks for continuity from the key cylinder switch. The switch should close when the key is
turned in the cylinder. If an open circuit exists, you must replace the micro switch attached to the key cylinder.
2.
Remove the affected door key cylinder.
3.
Remove the micro switch located on the back of the key cylinder by removing the E-clip (see Figure 2).
4.
Check the black rubber grommet on the back of the micro switch for tears. Replace it if necessary.
