Thermal Protector Circuit Usually Closed, Open when refrigerant temperature exceeds 330 degrees F (165 degrees C).

Check for battery voltage at the magnetic clutch.

If voltage is present, replace the magnetic clutch.

If voltage is not present, replace the thermal protector.
NOTE:
Inspect the pressure plate area of the magnetic clutch.

If the rubber protrusions are damaged (burnt appearance), rotate the pressure plate (by hand or use a suitable tool). If the pressure plate does
not turn, the compressor may have internal damage. Replace the compressor.
