Spark Plug: Service and Repair
Spark Plug Wire Removal
1.
Remove and install plug wires carefully.
CAUTION: When removing plug wires, pull on the boot, not the wire.
Install Spark Plug Socket Squarely Over Spark Plugs
2.
Remove and install plugs with socket specifically designed for the job. Make sure socket fits squarely over the plug.
3.
Set gap to 0.040 - 0.043 in (1.0 - 1.1 mm).
4.
Apply anti-seize compound or molybdenum-based lubricant to plug threads. Tighten to 11 - 16 ft lb (15 - 22 Nm).
