Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service Precautions
NOTE: During routine inspection, varying degrees of oil wetness may be noticed on the rear shock absorber. If there is a thin oily film or sheen on the
top of the shock absorber near the piston, it may be a normal condition, with no ride or handling performance concerns. If this is the case, do not replace
the shock absorber. A heavy oil film along with droplets of oil below the lower spring seat is considered an abnormal condition. The shock absorber
should be replaced if this condition is detected.
