Throttle Body: Testing and Inspection

1.

Operate throttle by hand. Check that throttle valve opens and closes smoothly and does not stick in any position.

2.

Check for vacuum leaks at throttle shaft. Repair or replace as necessary.

3.

Visually inspect throttle body for dirt, oil or carbon. Clean as necessary.

CAUTION:Do not use carburetor cleaner to clean the throttle body as the harsh chemicals will dissolve the protective coating on the throttle valve

plates.
