Ignition Coil: Testing and Inspection

Carry out spark test.

Ignition Coil Operation Inspection

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. inspect the ignition coilpower supply voltage (terminal 1A and 2A).

If not as specified, inspect the power supply system harness (ignition coil terminal 1A, 2A and ignition switch including short cord.).

Specification: B+

3. Inspect the ignition coil (terminal 1B and 2B) earth voltage.

If not as specified, inspect the ground system harness (Ignition coil terminal 1B, 2B and body ground.).

Specification: 0 V

4. Pull the ignition coil connector 1C and 2C out using a pin tool (terminal disconnector).
5. Remove the spark plug, high-tension lead and ignition coil.
