When the ignition is turned off at a high RPM (past mid-range), the force moving the tach needle clockwise becomes greater than the force returning it to
zero. When restarting the engine, the tach needle moves to the wrong side of the stopper pin. Refer to the illustration above.
NOTE:
This situation can occur even when the ROOM fuse is installed.
