Protege LX L4-1489cc 1.5L DOHC MFI (1998)
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the PCM connectors.
3. Inspect for continuity between the PCM ground terminals and body ground by using an ohmmeter.
4. If not as specified, repair the related harnesses.
SGT Terminal Test
SGT TERMINAL TEST WITHOUT SSTs TESTER
1. Verify that the PCM connector terminal 3A voltage is approximately 2.0 V when cranking the engine by using a voltmeter.
2. If not as specified, inspect the camshaft position sensor.
Power Supply Terminal Test
POWER SUPPLY TERMINAL TEST WITHOUT SSTs TESTER
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the PCM connectors.
3. Measure the voltage between the PCM battery power supply terminal connectors and body ground by using a voltmeter.
4. If not as specified, repair the related harnesses and fuses.
Serial Communication Test
SERIAL COMMUNICATION TERMINAL TEST WITHOUT SSTs TESTER
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect PCM connectors.
