Malfunction Indicator Lamp: Testing and Inspection

Connect terminal 1E of ECU to a body ground. Refer to ECU pin connections in this section under ENGINE CONTROL UNIT (ECU).

Start engine and check that MIL light illuminates.

If lamp does not light, check meter fuse, bulb and wiring harness between dash warning lamp cluster and ECU.
With test connector grounded, ECU terminal 1E should read below 4.8V for 3 seconds after ignition is switched "ON" and MIL is lit. When MIL goes
out, voltage should be approximately 12V.
