Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Testing and Inspection
BAC Valve Testing
SYSTEM INSPECTION
1.
Warm up engine and run at idle.
2.
Ground test connector (Green: 1-pin).
3.
Connect a tachometer.
4.
Disconnect BAC valve connector and verify that engine speed decreases.
5.
Reinstall connector.
BAC SOLENOID VALVE CHECK
1.
Disconnect BAC valve connector and check resistance across valve terminals. It should be 10.7 - 12.3 ohms.
2.
Apply 12V and a ground across valve terminals. Verify that valve "clicks" when power is applied.
3.
If not as specified, replace solenoid valve.
BAC solenoid valve output voltage can be checked at ECU terminal 3Q. With ignition switch "ON" or at idle, the terminal should read a duty pulse of
approximately 9V.
