Air Diverter Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

Relief Solenoid Valve Testing
1.
Disconnect solenoid valve vacuum hose.
2.
Blow through valve from port "B" and check that air flows from the air filter.
3.
Unplug solenoid electrical connector and apply 12V and a ground to solenoid terminals.
4.
Blow through valve from port "B" and check that air now flows from port "A."
5.
If not as specified, replace solenoid valve.
Relief solenoid valve output voltage can be checked at ECU terminal 2P. At idle, terminal voltage should be below 2.0V. At engine speeds above 3600
rpm, voltage should be approximately 12V.
