Fuel Pump Ballast Resistor Relay: Testing and Inspection
Fuel Pump Resistor Relay Testing
1.
Remove air cleaner and air flow meter if necessary to access relay.
2.
Unplug relay connector and check resistance across terminals as follows:
TERMINALSRESISTANCE (OHMS)

c - d
60 - 92
e - f
0.70 - 0.94
3.
If not as specified, replace resistor relay.
Fuel pump resistor output voltage can be checked at ECU terminal 1K. While cranking, terminal voltage should be approximately 12V. With engine at
idle 90 seconds after engine start, voltage should be below 2.0V.
