Intake Air Temperature Sensor: Testing and Inspection
In Dynamic Chamber
1.
Disconnect thermosensor connector.
2.
Check resistance across sensor terminals.
3.
Check that resistance corresponds to these values:
K OHMS
AIR TEMP.
33 ± 4
25°C / 77°F
3.5 ± 0.4
85°C / 185°F
4.
As an alternate method, remove sensor and place in a container of water with a thermometer.
5.
Connect an ohmmeter across sensor terminals and slowly heat water.
6.
Check that resistance varies according to the table above.
7.
If not as specified, replace sensor.
