Air Solenoid Valve: Testing and Inspection
Switching Solenoid Valve

1.
Run engine until normal operating temperature is reached and continue to run at idle.
2.
Connect tachometer to engine.
3.
Disconnect switching solenoid valve vacuum sensing tube at valve end.
4.
Place a finger over port opening, Fig. 2. then gradually accelerate engine and ensure air is not drawn into tube at speeds above 1000 RPM.

5.
Disconnect the connector from the throttle sensor Fig. 3.
