Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Disconnect main fuel hose from fuel pipe.

3.

Connect pressure gauge between hose and pipe with three-way connector, Fig. 42. Cover fuel hose with a cloth when disconnecting hose, since
pressurized fuel will escape from connection.

4.

Reconnect battery ground cable, then start engine.

5.

Disconnect vacuum hose at pressure regulator control valve, then measure fuel pressure with engine idling. Fuel pressure should be approximately
37 psi.

6.

Reconnect vacuum hose at control valve, then measure fuel pressure. Fuel pressure should be approximately 28 psi.
