Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair

1.
Raise and support front of vehicle.
2.
Remove engine undercover.
3.
Remove tension rod nuts and tension rod.
4.
Remove nuts from both ends of stabilizer bar and from right and left control links.
5.
Remove stabilizer bar support plates and rubber bushings.
6.
Remove right and left mounting brackets, tension rod and stabilizer bar from vehicle.
7.
Reverse procedure to install. Note the following:
a. Check tension rod and stabilizer bar components for cracks, warp and wear. Replace any damaged components as required.
b. During installation of tension rod, install front end of tension rod onto the mounting bracket and tighten nut ``A'' to specification shown in
Fig. 8. Torque nut ``B'' to 80-108 ft.lbs. (11.0-15.0 mkg). Torque tension arm to suspension nuts to 40-50 ft.lbs. (5.5-6.9 mkg) and stabilizer
support plate bolts to 27-34 ft.lbs. (3.4-4.7 mkg).
