Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Disconnect brake pipes from hydraulic unit using a flare nut wrench. Cap all open hoses and fittings to prevent system contamination, Fig. 74.

3.

Remove hydraulic unit retaining nuts, then the hydraulic unit from vehicle.

4.

Remove valve and motor relays from hydraulic unit.

5.

Reverse procedure to install. Do not remove caps until brake lines are to be connected. Bleed system in following order; rear wheel cylinders, front
wheel cylinders, then the hydraulic unit.
