Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect the throttle sensor connector.
2.
Remove throttle sensor mounting bolts and remove sensor from vehicle.
3.
Install throttle sensor on vehicle and replace the mounting bolts.
4.
Warm up the engine then stop it.
Test Harness Installed On Engine

Connect the checker lamp (Mazda SST, Part# 49 F018001) to the check connector (Green:3-pin).
6.
Turn the ignition switch on and check whether one of the lamps illuminates.
Throttle Sensor Adjustment

If both lamps illuminate or if neither lamp does, turn the throttle sensor adjusting screw until one of the lamps illuminates. If both lamps
illuminate, turn the adjusting screw counter-clockwise. If neither lamp illuminates, turn the adjusting screw clockwise.
8.
Reinstall the cap on the adjusting screw after adjusting.
NOTE: Do not use excessive pressure on the screw: this may cause incorrect adjustment.
