Fuel Pump Ballast Resistor Relay: Testing and Inspection
Fuel Pump Resistor Relay Testing
1.
Remove air cleaner and air flow meter if necessary to access relay.
2.
Unplug relay connector and check resistance across terminals as follows:
TERMINALS RESISTANCE (OHMS)
a - b ... 0 ohms
c - d ... 60 - 92 ohms
e - f
... 0.70 - 0.94 ohms
If not as specified, replace resistor relay.
3.
Connect power to relay terminal "c" and ground relay terminal "d", to energize relay.

Resistance between terminals "a" and "b" should go to infinity (no continuity) when relay is energized. If not, replace resistor relay.
