Programmable Module Installation

PROGRAMMABLE MODULE INSTALLATION

Using The Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) When The Original Body Chassis Electrical Module Is Not Available

1. Install the new module.
2. Connect the WDS or equivalent Tester and ID the vehicle as normal.
3. From the Toolbox icon, select and highlight; Module Programming and then highlight the module that was installed and press the check mark.
4. Select and highlight: Programmable Module Installation and then highlight the module that was installed then press the check mark.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions and turn the ignition key to the OFF position and press the check mark.
6. The WDS or equivalent Tester will retrieve the module data from the PCM and automatically download the data into the new module and display:

Operation Successful - Programming Complete.

7. If the data is not available in the PCM, the WDS or equivalent Tester will display a screen stating to contact the As-Built Data Center. Contact the

Mazda Technical Hotline for more information on this procedure.

8. Enter the module data (module address and line are displayed to the left of the three entry boxes) and press the check mark.
9. WDS or equivalent Tester will download the data into the new module and display: Operation Successful - Programming Complete.

10. Test the module for correct operation.

Using The Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) When The Original Body Chassis Electrical Module Is Available

1. Connect the WDS or equivalent Tester and ID the vehicle as normal.
2. From the Toolbox icon, select and highlight: Module Programming and press the check mark.
3. Select and highlight: Programmable Module Installation.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions and turn the ignition key to the OFF position and press the check mark.
5. Install the new module and press the check mark.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions and turn the ignition key to the ON position and press the check mark.
7. Module configuration is complete.
8. Test the module for correct operation.
