DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit a buzzing noise from the front door speakers. The noise may be due to the resonant characteristics of the door vapor barrier
(poly shield), or in some cases loose speaker mounting hardware.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Remove front door panels according to Workshop Manual (section 09-17 FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
3.
Remove vapor barriers, then operate radio.

If buzz noise is eliminated, proceed to Step 4.

If buzz noise is still present, proceed to Step 5.
4.
Replace both vapor barriers.
5.
Verify speaker fasteners are properly torqued to 17 lb-in (1.9 N-m), if so, troubleshoot according to Workshop Manual.
6.
Verify repair.
