Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Service and Repair

IDLE AIR CONTROL (IAC) VALVE

Removal and Installation

1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE.
2. Remove the upper snow shield.

Remove the upper snow shield-to-intake manifold screw.

-

Remove the upper snow shield-to-intake manifold pin-type retainer.

3. Remove the lower snow shield.

-

Remove the lower snow shield-to-intake manifold screws (2 req'd)

4. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector.
5. Remove the two bolts and the IAC valve.

-

Discard the gasket.

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Install a new gasket.
