3. Connect the special tool to the special tool adapter harness.
4. Connect the special tool to the battery.
1. Connect the red clip to the positive battery terminal.
2. Connect the black clip to the negative battery terminal.
5. Verify that the red light on the special tool is illuminated
6. Make sure all personnel are at least 6.1 meters (20 feet) away from the air bag module.
7. Using the special tool, deploy the air bag module by pressing the activation switch.

Remote Deployment
WARNING: Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) vehicle and when handling an air bag
module. This will reduce the risk of injury in the event of an accidental deployment.
WARNING: Remote deployment is to be performed outdoors with all personnel at least 6.1 meters (20 feet) away to ensure personal safety.
Due to the loud report which occurs when the air bag is deployed, hearing protection is required.
WARNING: Never probe the electrical connector on a safety canopy module. Doing so can result in safety canopy deployment.
NOTE: A typical safety canopy disposal is shown that is similar for all vehicles.
